Our Anthem
(To the tune of America the Beautiful)
Oh mundane pollock, no one's fantasy,
Oh sablefish and hake,
Oh halibut, rockfish and such,
And don't forget the skate.
Oh Groundfish, this is our wish,
We raise our glass to you,
And hope to Hell,
You'll all do well,
And not be overfished.
There is, of course, exception here,
Lest we begin to moan,
Pacific halibut it seems,
Are holding their own,
Oh Groundfish, this is our wish,
We raise our glass to you,
And hope to Hell,
You'll all do well,
And not be overfished.
So here we are, all out to sea,
Just sorting through our catch,
The waves they tower eighteen feet high,
And we begin to retch,
Oh Groundfish, this is our wish,
We raise our glass to you,
And hope to Hell,
You'll all do well,
And not be overfished.
